3D modeled Splatoon Canister and Zaofu Spear from Legend of Korra

Two of my latest models are finished, have fun watching the videos. I lost footage of myself 3d modeling but I still have the footage of the printing process.

They fit well and make sure to prime the plastic thoroughly before painting. I prefer wood glue.

Here’s a link to the models:

Hey this is a commission I made . It is Mjolnir from Soul Eater.

marie mjolnir photo souleater_marie2.jpg

I initially made a 3d model of it using fusion 360

The model was pretty basic and easily done. took me about 15 minutes to throw it together. I then 3dprinted it and showed the print to my client to make sure she liked the design of the hammer before I proceed to designing puzzle pieces.

After the client said “I love it,” I began designing the puzzle pieces which took about 5 hours.

After this step I began laser cutting the pieces and glueing them together

The pieces did have these tooth edges that could be easily sanded off.

I used plastic wood as wood filler to fill the joints between all of the pieces

Then used an electric sander to sand it real smooth before priming it with spray filler.

It now just needs a final sand to make it completely smooth

Remixed Adafruit’s Lie Ren’s Stormflower Gun Blade

here’s a link to their tutorial: https://learn.adafruit.com/stormflower-gun-blade/overview

After I noticed some of the pieces were too tight I decided to remix the models. I made the sockets better to account for pla and abs expansion.

I also made the trigger spring loaded.

From Concept to Prototype – Marie’s Mjolnir From Soul Eater

This is one of my projects I am working on. Someone asked if I could create Marie’s Mjolnir and I said “yep, I probably could.”

To start out, I used fusion 360 to model the hammer. Then I 3d printed it to scale for my bodychan so i can show it to my client via video or photo. the body chan gives them a good reference of the object to the human body.

I am still waiting for my client to give me any suggestions before I actually start designing the life size hammer. I will probably use plywood and the laser cutter to make the hammer cause I want it to be cost effective, high quality, and light weight.

Thanks for reading

Please follow my page if you enjoy my work.

you can also follow my youtube channel where I try to make videos about my work. I try….

Thanks again! enjoy some dorky 3d prints.

I am also thinking about using my laser cutter to make wallets and pursure. of course they will be geeky and pop culture influenced.

Thanks… bye

Mjolnir, Thor’s Hammer: Can be found in Facebook group #D Printed Props. Model created by Nathan Light

His model was meant for cosplay and is lifesized. I decided to scaled it down 1/4 of its original for fun.

Lugia Pokemon: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1037220

beautiful model but requires lots of supports.

Kawaii Octopus: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1935427http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:524179

Let me know what I should print next.

Punished Props Shares the Same Birthday as me!

dI have been following this youtube channel for a while and they are one of my driving force for all of my projects.

They just posted a video today about Bill’s (the host of Punished Props) birthday and YAY! he shares the same birthday as me. It would be great to meet these guys in real life one day. Maybe, one day . Oh well I will keep working on my props and post occasional videos and blogs and maybe just maybe we will meet one day.

Please visit their channel and download their free E-book celebrating their birthday…. our birthday.  *cough* their birthday.

Maker Making Tools Youtube Video. I should start making my own.

Hey Punished Props made a video of one of my favorite tools. Maybe I should start making videos of my favorite tools for cosplay making and maker making. Yes I am going to coin the term, “Maker Making”

I used the extremely accurate 123 blocks to measure and weigh down my drafts and prop work all the time. it comes quite in handy.

Made my Own Body-kun/Body-Chan for testing

For experimental purposes, I measured a Body-Kun and test printed it for 3d modeling purposes. My guess Is I can make 3d printable armor pieces and test them on body-kun then scale them up human size.  So far I got a pretty good scale print of body-kun which proves I can use the model to make

I got a pretty good scale print of body-kun which proves I can use the model to make armor to fit her.  The print was in 10 percent infill and I used an iron to melt off the supports… that is why it looks odd. Without that taken into consideration, It looks pretty good and it makes a good reference in my 3d modeling programs also the armor pieces can be scaled up to life sizes and as long as you are 5-6 feet tall you’ll fit into the armor no problem.

I am getting pretty excited cause I been wanting to do this sort of thing ever since I saw Felicia Day’s 3d printed armor designed by Mellisa Ng. This is just a step towards creating my first design and showing it off to you guys. Hopefully sometime in the near future I can print these designs for real people…. but for now, I will stick to creating them for body-kun…. cause I am poor….

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.

Currently working on Tali’s helmet, female Alarak, and a howling banshee. Once I finish my first set of armor I will make one of them youtube videos that are not crappy like the rest of my videos.

Again thanks for reading, bye.

Fusion 360 warm up: League of Legends Leona’s shield DxF files.

Hey I made some DxF files today to laser cut Leona’s shield! you can download it here

I used a shield image I found on google as a reference. I also made a very rudimentary model of her shield but don’t plan on making a model unless enough people like this post.

enjoy.
