Remixed Adafruit’s Lie Ren’s Stormflower Gun Blade

here’s a link to their tutorial:¬†https://learn.adafruit.com/stormflower-gun-blade/overview

After I noticed some of the pieces were too tight I decided to remix the models. I made the sockets better to account for pla and abs expansion.

I also made the trigger spring loaded.

Get a layer fan for your 3d printer.

I do not know why but some 3d printer do not come with a layer fan. In my opinion, layer fans are must haves in every printer. The reason is it once the molten/melted pla is deposited on a layer it will tend to ooze if it Is still warm. Oozing plastic will result in bad layer construction in 3d prints.

in the video you can see the drastic difference in print quality with and without a fan.

From Concept to Prototype – Marie’s Mjolnir From Soul Eater

This is one of my projects I am working on. Someone asked if I could create Marie’s Mjolnir and I said “yep, I probably could.”

To start out, I used fusion 360 to model the hammer. Then I 3d printed it to scale for my bodychan so i can show it to my client via video or photo. the body chan gives them a good reference of the object to the human body.

I am still waiting for my client to give me any suggestions before I actually start designing the life size hammer. I will probably use plywood and the laser cutter to make the hammer cause I want it to be cost effective, high quality, and light weight.

Thanks for reading

Please follow my page if you enjoy my work.

you can also follow my youtube channel where I try to make videos about my work. I try….

Thanks again! enjoy some dorky 3d prints.

I am also thinking about using my laser cutter to make wallets and pursure. of course they will be geeky and pop culture influenced.

Thanks… bye

I left my wood burning tool on him while I was going to the bathroom. melted his head off on accident

Mjolnir, Thor’s Hammer: Can be found in Facebook group #D Printed Props. Model created by Nathan Light

His model was meant for cosplay and is lifesized. I decided to scaled it down 1/4 of its original for fun.

Lugia Pokemon: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1037220

beautiful model but requires lots of supports.

Kawaii Octopus: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1935427http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:524179

Very fun Print and very printer friendly.

Let me know what I should print next.

3d print showreel #1

I used a soldering iron to clean the anime girl. Tracer’s model came out with a million holes and I tried to fill them all with the soldering iron. yea she didn’t¬†come out well either. If i were to reprint her i would probably scale her up and add more supports. he model was rendered weirdly and isn’t¬†very printer friend.

Thanks for watching.

Tough model to print. needs lots of supports

Made my Own Body-kun/Body-Chan for testing

For experimental purposes, I measured a Body-Kun and test printed it for 3d modeling purposes. My guess Is I can make 3d printable armor pieces and test them on body-kun then scale them up human size.  So far I got a pretty good scale print of body-kun which proves I can use the model to make

I got a pretty good scale print of body-kun¬†which proves I can use the model to make armor to fit her. ¬†The print was in 10 percent infill and I used an iron to melt off the supports… that is why it looks odd. Without that taken into consideration, It looks pretty good and it makes a¬†good reference in my 3d modeling programs also the armor pieces can be scaled up to life sizes and as long as you are 5-6 feet tall you’ll fit into the armor no problem.

I am¬†getting pretty excited cause I been wanting to do this sort of thing ever since I saw Felicia Day’s 3d printed armor designed by Mellisa Ng. This is just a step towards creating my first design and showing it off to you guys. Hopefully sometime in the near future I can print these designs for real people…. but for now, I will stick to creating them for body-kun…. cause I am poor….

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.

Currently working on Tali’s helmet, female Alarak, and a howling banshee. Once I finish my first set of armor I will make one of them youtube videos that are not crappy like the rest of my videos.

Again thanks for reading, bye.

3d modeling Practice – Hey! send me request for model ideas.

I got a student license to drive 3ds max and will be spending a few hours a week learning how to use it. I just finished creating and uploading one of kamui’s¬†foot armor as a warm up¬†http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2172148¬†and I am looking for more props to create.

If you have any ideas, please shoot them my way.

Hey! did a short talk with CostumeAndPlay.com

Hey! I did a short interview with a group of cosplay enthusiast and event planners from across the pond. I made myself seem like a spaz but it was fun telling people how fun 3d printing and cosplay is.

Cosplay has recently taken the media and become more mainstream in today’s culture and it is evolving. It is also spreading and is still relatively new in today’s world. I am trying to be a part of that movement/evolution by using my knowledge of 3d printing and arduino hacking and demonstrating it to¬†cosplayers in my area.

It is been my goal to bring more technology to the field of cosplay and influence cosplayers to use it more. It directly ups their game in the cosplay world and indirectly gets more people interested in electronics!

I like to tell people who have a budding interesting in the techy side of cosplay and are too intimidated to start, “Just do it!” the best way to learn something is to jump in head first and make mistakes. I self taught myself 3d printing, modeling, and coding and my first 3d printer was something I made from scraps I found.

Here is a link to their website where you can see their hard work blogging about the cosplay community. Here is a link to the interview ; it is a twitch recording called Costume and Play Chit Chat. Watch as I make myself awkward and dork off on some tech stuff.
